Jacob White, PhD

Jacob White is a distinguished mixed-methods social scientist with over 15 years of experience leading research across academic, non-profit, and business environments. At Civic Directive, Jacob is a Principal Investigator that often leads research planning, "big data" analytics, and dashboard creation.

Dr. White's previous academic career involved designing and leading international multi-year research projects investigating human health, using controlled experimental designs and qualitative thematic analysis. He has successfully secured over $300,000 in research grant funding to lead multidisciplinary teams, investigating human health-seeking behaviors. His research has led him to collaborating with institutions across states, and in Germany, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. Much of this research has been published in leading academic journals, including Scientific Reports.

Beyond his academic work, Dr. White served as a Research Analyst for the Institute for Children's Research and Policy, where he specialized in translating complex data for public stakeholders. He managed large-scale community assessments for Southern Nevada, producing reports that informed the Nevada State Legislature on critical state-wide policy decisions.

Most recently, Jacob has applied his expertise to the technology sector as a researcher at Google. In this role, he led cross-functional teams to execute research for Google Messages, transforming complex user data into actionable strategies for digital product development. He is highly proficient in Python, R, and Qualtrics, ensuring that every project at Civic Directive is grounded in reliable, defensible data.

Dr. White earned his PhD from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and his MSc from Durham University, Durham, United Kingdom.
